Ingleby ROMANIAIngleby owns three farms in Romania. The farms are gathered in the Lugoj hub and total 10,385 hectares. Romania is placed between Eastern and Western Europe. It has a rich tradition of agriculture and some of Europe’s best arable land. The soil in Romania is of a high quality, but was depleted during the Communist era. There is, however, great potential to return it to its former efficiency. The fertile soil and favourable climate make the country suitable for many types of agriculture. Romania may not have had as rapid an agricultural development as Western Europe, but the slow pace of change has been positive for wildlife. Species that have decreased or become extinct in other parts of Europe still prosper in Romania.

FarmsLugojThe Lugoj group consists of three highly fertile arable farms. On the gentle rolling clay soils the farms produce corn, soya, wheat, barley, oats, canola and sorghum. Huge effort and work has been undertaken in renovating and improving the farm buildings, the surroundings and the fertility of the soils. The soil pH is extremely low and liming over the next years will be vital. The farms are set in a beautiful landscape with hills dotting the horizon, and a rich fauna and wildlife. |
